Growing up in Vietnam, motorcycles were a primary mode of transport for me, but frequent crashes highlighted their dangers. In Vietnam, where traffic moves slowly, injuries were usually minor, but in North America, higher average speeds mean motorcycle accidents can result in severe injuries or death. Reflecting on my own minimal use of protective gear and its rarity among other riders, I realized the critical need for improved safety measures. Motorcycles lack inherent protective features of cars, making safety gear essential. Thus, it is crucial to encourage the use of protective gear by enhancing its style, comfort, and ease of use, especially for those who currently avoid it.
